Abirami began her Bharathanataym training at the India School of Dance Music and Theatre and completed her aradhana in 2011 under the tutelage of Guru Shanta Ponnudurai. She has been featured dancing on television networks and shows such as CBC, Shaw TV, CTV, and Breakfast Television. In 2013 she competed at the Canadian National Dance Champtionships, receiving first place and ranked goldhonours. Abirami joined Manohar Performing Arts in Fall 2011, and toured with Manohar to the 2012 and 2014 Thunder Bay Festival of India. Abi enjoys performing in local festivals and events such as Folklorama and Diwali Mela. She joined BhavaRagaTala in September 2012 as a Bharatanatyam dance instructor for Beginner students.
